Established in 1991, the Applied Electronics Department is an academic structure in which its members are supporters of the idea that engineering is based on a good theoretical foundation that must be channeled towards concrete, practical implementations. The disciplines offered by the members of the department are taught both in Romanian and in English.
The department’s staff also supports students in extracurricular professional activities such as student scientific circles and professional competitions: Electronic Interconnection Techniques (TIE), Digilent Design Contest or Hard and Soft. The department’s laboratories have been equipped in recent years with new furniture and modern electronic instrumentation. The members of the department are also involved in national/international research and academic projects, as well as in collaborations with industry partners: Siemens, Continental Automotive, NI, Elster-ABB, Bosch, Hidroelectrica, etc. The department has professional links with universities in Europe and the United States. Students can benefit from scholarships and internships that ensure they receive training in line with the demands of a modern electronics and telecommunications engineering profession.
