W<\/strong>elcome<\/strong> to Invent for the Planet<\/strong>!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This 48-hour Intensive Design Experience (IDE) engages students at different universities around the world on a single weekend to solve high impact, global problems. Invent for the Planet is based on the highly successful program at Texas A&M University, called Aggies Invent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Invent for the Planet is held in multiple locations across the globe simultaneously. Each group starts at 4:00 p.m. local time on Friday, the first day of the competition. New groups will join the race to innovation as time travels across the world. Student teams work on provided design challenges in local teams and will be encouraged to connect with teams across the globe as they come online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the weekend we will:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Engage a diverse group of students across the globe in an intensive design experience which leads students through an innovation, design, and problem-solving experience<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Challenge students to develop unique solutions to impactful problems<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Connect universities into a network focused on providing intensive design experiences<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Collaborate on best practices, mechanics, and student outcomes with a network of universities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WEEKEND OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Have several promising ideas worthy of further development<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Support solutions to encourage entrepreneurship and commercialization<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Engage students in the full design process that includes global collaboration<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INVENT FOR THE PLANET WILL BE A VERY UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 They will be engaged in a structured design process solving some of the most challenging problems in the world<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Teams will work locally, with local mentors, but collaborate with teams around the world<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 We will provide access to advanced collaboration software platforms and support to aid<\/p>\n\n\n\n

distributed development<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Global attention and visibility for participation in the program<\/p>\n\n\n\n
