Digilent is proud to announce the launching of the XIIIth edition of the Digilent Design Contest Europe, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Digilent RO (Cluj-Napoca, Romania), in co-operation with Digilent Inc. (Pullman, WA, SUA) and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Department of Applied Electronics, proudly announces the XIIIth Edition of the Digilent Design Contest Europe, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Enrollment deadline: December 31st, 2016.
We invite teams of students (up to three members) from universities all over Europe, to put in practice their ideas. Teams will have approximately 5 months to design and implement a project of their choice and present the final version in May 2017 in Cluj-Napoca, România.
The contest finals (projects defending and award ceremony) will be held in Cluj-Napoca, at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, on May 13 – 14, 2017.
The competition aims to encourage creativity, originality and common sense to students, their mobilization in the implementation of projects of high complexity.
Enrolled students receive free Digilent hardware platforms (FPGA systems) and develop their own projects, to present in the final stage (oral, practical demonstration and documentation). After defending the projects, the teams keep the hardware platforms, regardless the final ranking.
The jury is composed of top international industry representatives. The best projects are rewarded with consistent prizes. Finalists are published on the contest site: www.digilentdesigncontest.com
The previous 12 editions of the contest (2004-2016) included students from the Romania, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland, Swiss, Germany, UK, Greece, Turkey, France, Italy, Estonia and Serbia.
Worldwide Finals were organized in Munich, Germany, (September 2011), Pullman, Washington, USA, (September 2012), Shanghai, China, (August 2014).
